This 1894 Special Kinesiology on Educational Gymnastics by Baron Posse came out of a recent estate and is in good reading condition. This is a treatise on the mechanics, effects and classification of special exercises. Baron Posse was a swedish gymnast. The aim of gymnastics is primarily health. When based on pathological consideration they are called medical and when applied to the well, they are called hygienic and are constructed on physiological principles. There are fascinating movements depicted in the book, such as "wheeling" where you stand on your hands and move from right hand to left hand with the motions of you arms and legs resembling the spokes of a revolving wheel whereby your hands never touch the floor simultaneously nor do your feet but the movement is a distinct "one - two - three - four" with your arms and legs kept straight throughout the movement. This 380 page book measures 9"x7".
