This is a collection of 5 Vintage 1926 S.S. White Dental Extracting Elevators which came out of a dental instrument collectors estate and they are in good looking and in useable condition. These were invented by Walter P. Barry of Newark, New Jersey as assignor to the S.S. White Dental Mfg. Co. of Pennsylvania and his intentions was to provide "a tooth extracting elevator that is so constructed and arranged as to afford a firm, correct, comfortable and natural grasp of the hand of the operator whereby a positive and unrestrained lever action combined with the desired twist of the tool may be conveniently effected." The full description of his thinking is described in Patent Numbered 1,606,686 and imprinted on each of the handles is "Patented Nov. 9, 1926, Patented 1927." Each of these five tools has a different shape, measures 3/4"x3-1/4"x3-3/4," weigh a total of 2 pounds and the high bidder will the collection of five.
