This is a book entitled The Penny Magazine of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge which came out of a Philadelphia estate and it is in good looking and in good reading condition. It features all of the weekly issues of The Penny Magazine through 1938, there was black tape placed over the back of the book but the pages and binding remain largely intact. It features several hundred illustrations on topography, antiquities, manners, customs, natural history, fine arts, ballads, etc. and is a fascinating volume 503 page glimpse of what was considered important in early 1800 society. It measures 2"x7-1/2"x11" and weighs 3 pounds.
